UOB China is a wholly-owned banking subsidiary of Singapore based United Overseas Bank Limited. Despite its 20 years and more in association with China, this wholly-owned UOB subsidiary was formerly incorporated only in 2007 in the People’s Republic of China, and formerly commenced its business in 2008. Today, UOB Bank China has a network operation of 10 branches altogether, with sub branches in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Xiamen, Chengdu, Shenyang and Tianjin. With the launched of a new Exchange-Traded Fund known as United FTSE/Xinhua China A50 ETF by UOB Asset Management and listed on the Singapore Exchange Limited, Singapore investors can access the China A-Shares market. Together with Singapore Exchange Limited, UOBAM list the first China A-Shares Exchange Traded Fund on SGX facilitating Singapore’s retail and institutional investors to gain exposure to the important and restricted segment of China’s securities markets.
