Bank of the West Classic is a week-long tennis tournament for the women started since 1971 by the Bank of the West. It is the oldest running women's-only tournament in the world. It is held annually on the campus of the Stanford University, Stanford, California. Many top ranking players of the world participates every year and compete for the grand event prize of US$ 700,000. 2011 will mark the 41st year of competition which is scheduled to be held from July 25-31, 2011 at Stanford University. The Bank of the West Classic is a part of the Olympus US Open Series, whose contribution for the enhancement to the sport with more national TV hours, live finals and national marketing and publicity campaign has helped increase tennis exposure and participation from various corners.
Bank of the West Classic Tennis Tournament
Bank of the West has held the title sponsorship of the tennis tournament event ever since 1992. The event is conducted every year through several entities sponsoring for the tournament. The event consists of singles and doubles with the prize of US$ 700,000. Several top players from different countries participate every year and compete for the prize. This year's event was held from July 26 - August 1st, 2010. Victoria Azarenka won the 2010 Bank of the West Classic Singles Title. The Doubles Title was won by Lindsay Davenport and Liezel Huber.

The 2009 Single title was won by Marion Bartoli and the double goes to Venus Williams and Serena Williams.
