Union Bank and Trust Company of Los Angeles was earlier known as Kaspare Cohn Commercial and Savings Bank named after Kaspare Cohn, its founder. Later in 1958 it shortened its name to only Union Bank. California First Bank, which was established in 1975, acquired Union Bank Corp in 1988 and retained Union Bank name later.
