Standard Chartered Bank has been operating in China since 1858 when the bank established its first branch in Shanghai. With the incorporation of Standard Chartered Bank China Limited in 2007, the bank became one of the first foreign international banks to locally incorporate in the country. Today, the bank is one of the largest foreign international banks in China with operating networks of 18 branches, 47 sub branches and 1 village bank, and they are located in various parts of the country.
