SBI Exams

SBI Exams are conducted by the Central Recruitment & Promotion Department of State Bank of India to fill the job vacancies offered by the bank. SBI Bank is one of the largest employers in India and it provides a large number of job opportunities to eligible candidates at regular time interval. If you are looking to work with the largest bank in India then you are required to pass the written examinations and interviews organized by the bank according to the job post and areas. One the other hand, SBI exams results of 2009 are now available on the official website of the bank and candidates can check whether they are through with the exams or not.

SBI Exams in 2010

State Bank of India invites applications from young and talented individuals for the post of bank POs in different branch locations of the bank. SBI PO written exam will be held on 18th April 2010 and the last date of receipt of applications is 2nd March 2010. It is very important for the candidates to remember the SBI exam dates and last date of application if they really want to try their best to qualify for the job openings. SBI PO exam 2010 includes written examination, group discussion and interviews. The written examination extends over a combined duration of 3hrs and it comprised of objective and descriptive type tests. The maximum marks will be 250 in which, 200 marks is for the objective type test and the remaining 50 for the descriptive type test. The following is a brief detail of the SBI Exams paper:

Objective Type Test - 2 hrs (200 marks)
  • Test of English Language
  • Test of General Awareness, computers and marketing
  • Interpretation test and data analysis
  • High level reasoning test
Descriptive Type Test - 1 hrs (50 marks)
  • Test of English language that includes comprehension, essay, letter writing, and short precis writing.
The merit list for written examination will be determined by the aggregate of marks secured by the candidates in descriptive and objective tests. Under the group discussion and interview for SBI POs, the maximum mark is 50, 20 for group discussion and 30 for the interview. Those candidates who have qualified in the written examination will be offered call letter to appear for the Group Discussion and Interview. SBI Exam center is made available in almost all the urban cities and states of India.

SBI Exams application can be made by visiting any of SBI branch located nearest to your area. The application form is easily available from any branch or you can also download the form from the bank's website. It is essential for the applicants to pay the prescribed fees and postal charges and get the receipt from where the exam application has been made. The payment of application fees can be made from 1st Feb to 28th Feb 2010.
