CIMB Niaga was earlier known as Bank Niaga which was established in 1955 as a private national bank in Indonesia. It was not until 2008 that Bank Niaga carried on its business with the brand name PT Bank Niaga Tbk. With the acquisition of Bank Niaga by CIMB Group Holdings Berhad in 2008, it was re-branded to PT Bank CIMB Niaga Tbk. During the same year, Lippo Bank also merged into CIMB Niaga and thus launched its new logo on November 1, 2008.
